Supramolecular chemistry and Polymer materials

Current research

In my group, we design, synthesize and characterize novel systems at the interface between supramolecular chemistry and polymers. Our main goal is to develop fundamental knowledge in this field, but whenever possible we try to valorize our results in the context of various materials (gels, adhesives, coatings…). Depending on the final goal, we use either low-molecular-weight molecules (to obtain supramolecular polymers) or macromolecules (to obtain nanoparticles) as building blocks.

Recent results

The guiding principle of my scientific activity is to use supramolecular chemistry to develop new macromolecular systems/polymeric materials. The reversibility of the interactions used (hydrogen bonding, metal-ligand interaction, host-guest effect, halogen bonding) confers potential advantages in a variety of contexts.
