He is an expert in analysis and characterization of starch and other biobased polymers. He implements a functional genomics approach with the use of new breeding technologies, such as CRISPR/Cas9, and multi-omic characterization in plants of agronomic interest (potato and pea) to investigate starch structure and metabolism, for example to understand cold induced sweetening in potatoes. Our collaboration aims at developing capillary electrophoresis and taylor dispersion analysis methods to investigate amylose (one of the main components of starch).
