School X-ray diffraction on powders and single crystals 2024

Organised by several Paris laboratories, including the IPCM, the 2024 edition is aimed at Parisian doctoral and post-doctoral students wishing to receive both theoretical and practical training in DRX on single crystals and/or powder.

As every year, a school entitled “X-ray diffraction on powders and single crystals” is being organised. This 3-day course, in French, will take place on the Pierre & Marie Curie campus from Monday 5 to Wednesday 7 February 2024. It is aimed at doctoral and post-doctoral students who need a basic grounding in X-ray diffraction.

This school, which is open to beginners, will alternate course elements (notions of crystallography and diffraction) and practical workshops on computers (structure resolution and refinement, Rietveld method) in small groups according to the following programme:

The course is free of charge. The deadline for applying to the school is 12 January 2024 (15 places available). If there are too many applications, participants will be selected on the basis of several criteria (balance between laboratories, themes, letter of support, contribution of diffraction to the research topic) and will be informed at the beginning of January.

To register, please complete the questionnaire below and attach a letter of support from your supervisor.
