2) Synthesis of (η5-cyclohexadienyl)Mn(CO)3 chiral planar ligands
Chiral planar tricarbonyl metal complexes represent a novel family of ligands for enantioselective catalysis. Although often considered spectatorial from a catalytic point of view, the organometallic tripod M(CO)3 (M= Cr, Mn+) provides planar chirality as well as steric and electronic effects.

These complexes with chelating units are subsequently used in catalysis.
